Pathway 4: for practice leaders

For practice leaders who are responsible across the whole local system for child and family social work practice and overseeing practitioners and leaders.

The pathway sets out the four capabilities (4C) leadership framework. The four capabilities are: 

  • maintaining curiosity 
  • providing clarity 
  • managing complexity 
  • expanding capacity 

You will: 
 

  • identify your strengths and areas for growth within the framework
  • develop a personalised action plan

This will enable you to: 

  • enhance your leadership practice 
  • support your supervisees 
  • positively influence outcomes for children and families across the wider system 

All the activities in the training will feed into the 4C leadership capability framework action plan. You can use it to keep your notes or reflections there or make your own notes separately. 
 
Each pathway is divided into the four capabilities. You can either complete: 

  • the whole pathway 
  • one or more of the four capabilities and return later to complete the remaining ones
